Sechseläuten (formerly Strawberry Picnic)

  • Chalet Kupfer 6114 East 58 Street Kansas City, MO, 64129 United States (map)

We are changing the name of this event to celebrate the Swiss tradition of Sechseläuten (the six o’clock ringing of the bells). This tradition was done to mark the ending of winter work hours. It is now celebrated by burning the Böögg (a firework-filled snowman) to say goodbye to winter and welcome Spring.

Enjoy bratwursts, carrot salad, rolls and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Hot dogs will be available for the kids. Water and soda will be provided, otherwise BYOB.

The Ladies Helvetia will have a station set up for kids (and adults) to build your own mini Böögg out of marshmellows!

The event starts at 5:00PM with registration and social hour.

Burning of the Böögg will be at 6:00PM with dinner is at 7:00PM.
